Office Party Tips

Tips for Having an Office Party with a Low Budget

Holding office parties is important as it will show the employees that the company cares about them and that they are not taken for granted. Moreover, office parties are important because everyone in the company is a human being and everyone deserves a bit of leisure time to blow out some steam.

However, sometimes holding office parties might be expensive and it can cost the company quite a lot. In most cases the office parties do not even have to be big or glamorous in order to have a good time and for every employee to mingle.

Choosing the best place to hold the party
If the company is really tight on money, it is perhaps best to hold the whole event at the company offices so to save money and to spend only on necessities. Depending on the theme of the party and who will be present it is important to think ahead space-wise, if it is possible organize the party to be held in the conference room. Simple decorations are all you will need to get the mood right and to set up the right atmosphere.

It is also important to remember that most employees are commuters and that if they do not have to go far away will only show that they are not neglected. Moreover, commuting employees will greatly appreciate the gesture and it will be not forgotten that the company is trying to accommodate all of its employees.

Choosing the right catering
Depends on the allowed budget you can choose to hire a catering service or to have the food and drinks set up yourself. Buying locally is important as it will cost you less and you will be sure to choose the healthiest option; moreover, catering locally enables you to create unique dinner plates. Consider the fact that luncheon plates are even less expensive than hosting a dinner, but make sure that there is plenty for everyone and that nobody will starve. Furthermore, appetizers and smaller snacks are also a good choice if you do not have a big budget.

Serving drinks is perhaps one of the most expensive of catering, and it is important that you do not think along the line of cocktails, instead opt for simple beer and wine being served so that you can save some money on liquor and cut out an expensive bartender serving expensive cocktails. Remember to have a choice of drinks for those who cannot drink, for the underage and for those who do not wish to consume alcohol.

 Get the right music
Instead of hiring a professional DJ, why not ask one of your employees to be the DJ at the party and let them have fun; make sure that they will respect everyone’s wishes and that they will not go overboard.

Renting a decent sound system is also not at all expensive and it can really lighten up the mood as people can have fun while enjoying themselves.

Get the right entertainment
There are plenty of adult games that can be played at a party and you should not feel embarrassed or too old to play some of them; mingling with the others and enjoying yourself is most important at an office party. Hiring a jumping castle might seem like an idea for a kid’s party, but once the adults get in, it is extremely hard to pull them out; instead join in on the fun and go wild, after all the party is meant for everyone to have a good time.

Low budget office parties
A company does not have to spend a lot of money in order to organize a good party, the most important thing is that the employees should have fun and that they get to mingle with other colleagues and they also get a chance to mingle with their superiors.

Never settle for the first choice for venue, food and drinks, always look into what other services have to offer as you might even get a better deal. Moreover, it is important to remember that if push comes to shove, employees can be asked to pay for something if they would like to have at the party.
