Top 5 Strangest Piercings

Piercings are very popular and can be seen almost anywhere you go. There are however some piercings that you probably don’t see on an everyday basis, they’re a little different to the average facial or ear piercing and can be deemed as strange. Below you can find out about 5 of them.

The Ring Finger:

Many of us dream about getting married one day and having that precious ring placed upon your finger. Not many of us dream about having it pierced into our finger, but there you go, you have witnessed your first strange piercing.

 Achilles Piercing:

The Achilles tendon is the tendon that runs down the back of the ankle so that you can move your foot properly.  Now the thought of anybody doing anything to that tendon makes me squirm and this piercing certainly does.

The Zipper Tongue:

Lots of us have tongue piercings, a piercing that we see quite a lot and probably doesn’t faze us. There is even a procedure where some choose to split their tongue to give it the same look as a snakes.  Well this is taking it one step further, a split tongue that is fitted with a zipper so that it can be reattached when the mood takes you.

The Eye:

This is the eyelid piercing, one that makes me wince every time I see it. It looks uncomfortable don’t you think? I don’t suppose it’s the easiest place to keep clean either which makes me think it’s probably prone to all kinds of infections. Still some people like it.

Sprung/Mandible:
This is a rare piercing due to the positioning of the piercing and its slow healing rate. The piercing starts inside the mouth, below the tongue and goes straight down so that it emerges on the outside of the under chin.  This is an area that consists of lots of nerve endings making it quite dangerous to perform. The piercing can affect the production of saliva and because it takes so long to Heal, saliva often dribbles down through the hole and down the neck.
